90 Chrysler New Yorker wont shift

Well the title says it all.
I got in today, and the car will not shift into 3rd gear.
Possible causes?

There's not much to do at this point...almost every cause is likely an internal transmission problem. About the only thing you can do is check the fluid level. If it's okay and the fluid doesn't look too bad you'll probably be in the market for a new/rebuild/used transmission. Sorry.

I have had a transmission flush save me from buying another transmission when the one in my ford ranger wouldn't shift above 2nd. We neutral dropped that thing all the time to. After the flush it shifted through all the gears fine and we kept neutral dropping it for the next 30k miles and it still was fine till we got rid of it.

you could have a bad shift solenoid to, go to a tranny place with a problem as blatant as yours they would be able to diagnosis it quick.
