Headlamps are dull

The clear plastic housing on my headlamps are starting to cloud over (from top to bottom). The top of the headlamp lens is slightly course.

I don't want to buy whole new headlamp assemblies.

Is there a way to sand or polish this "plexiglass" to be clear again. I assume it's plexiglass or maybe it's just clear plastic.

My dealer told me it was environmental and wouldn't cover it under warranty. I think it's caused by cheap parts as I don't know anything that would cause this by the car sittting outside.

Some people say mother mag cleaner and a lot of elbow grease works

I use a medium cut compound with a lambs wool high speed bonnet works like a charm on those plastic lights
