Angry 98 Ford F-150 Oil Problem

I recently changed the oil and oil filter on my 98 F-150 XLT 4x2 (6 cyl.) but now it is spraying oil all over the engine. The oil filter looks fine and is the proper size (Fram PH3600). What could be causing this and what do I need to do to correct this? I've drained the oil twice and have tried to adjust the "nipple" that the oil filter screws onto. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

Somebody else mentioned that to me, but when I checked the filter, it only had the original gasket....I even pulled it out and put it back in to make sure.

Look at the mating surface that filter goes against they normally stick there. the surface should be metal no rubber.
You can take them off and put them back on doesn't matter

Take it off and look at the surface.
