Headlight Switch replacement

I have a faulty headlight switch in my 1986 Crown Vic. It seems simple enought to replace it but my problem is I can not get my hand up to the switch to push the release button on the switch, how do I access the switch, I have taken off the panels on the bottom of the dash but still can not reach the switch. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Ford doesn't list any special instructions. They just say from under instrument panel, push shaft retainer button on side of swith. Either get a long screwdriver up in there to push the button...or find someone with smaller hands!

By the way, I feel your pain. I have big hands and my knuckles stay raw half the time from jamming my hands in tight spaces while working on cars.
