Thumbs down Honda CR-V humming noise

I have a 1999 Honda CR-V 2WD with 75K on it and it has developed a "humming" noise from what seems to be the front of the car. The noise starts at around 20 MPH and gets louder up to 40 MPH where it stays constant. Could this be caused by CV joints? The CV joint covers are intact from a visual standpoint.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Tony

it might be the bearing thats exactly the issue i had in my car the noise started around 20 and increased up to 40 where it remained constant after 2 weeks of driving the noise began at 15 mph and reached peak at 30 until the bearing was replaced there was excessive wear on the hub also hope this helps

It's probably the wheel bearings...does the noise go away at all, or lessen, if you are in a curve?
