A/C 91 chevy lumina

I have a 91 chevy lumina 6 cyl. 3.1. The A/C runs great except when going uphill, then it turns off. What could be the reason?

Many cars shut off the A/C under full throttle. Are you flooring it when you go up the hill?

sounds kinda weird are you sure it is not related to engine speed more than just going uphill?

I'd venture to say that it is only the blower shutting off or diverting air to the defrost vents that one doesn't readily feel. MY car did that, and did it until I discovered uynder the hood one day, by accident...by just observing my engine/compartment, as I do from time to time. I had a broken small diameter vacuum tube that forks off of the vacuum booster pump. I mended it. Now I don't have that syndrome anymore.
