2000 jeep grand cherokee starter

My starter is out in my 2000 jeep grand cherokee and I would like to get it started to at least drive it to the auto shop to get it worked on. Does anyone no a trick to start a vehicle with a faulty starter. Maybe, I can replace it my self if it doesn't require any major overhaul or fancy tools. Any Suggestions. DoI need anyt other tools besides a ratchet set?

Try tapping on the starter with small hammer and have someone try to crank it in the same time.

There's no special tool requires to do the job, long as you have a correct size of socket, it can be done at home, disconnect the battery if you are doing the starter replacement.
