Unhappy Vw Passat Out Of Storage Won"t Start

OK I'm an idiot. I put my 93 VW Passat in the garage 18 months ago and never cranked it. I was spoiled because I could leave it alone for months at a time and it would always run like a top. It's only got 39 K miles on it and used to run great. I tried to jump start it with my truck. It starts to crank but won't turn over. I think there is probably a problem with getting the motor primed and/or gas getting to the motor. Please help!!!

How can it "starts to crank but won't turn over"? If you can't get it to turn over what do you mean it starts to crank? When one says an engine turns over, that means the starter is spinning the engine; whether or not it fires on its own is another matter.

VW troubleshoot

Sounds like bad news.... I hate to tell ya that it may be in your fuel, if that car has sat that long the fuel can turn into some bad stuff and do a lot of damage. GL keep me posted!!
