I have a 1989 Toyota Pickup Truck which i bought used about 120,000 miles on it. When I turn on my car my and go to turn on my fan or heater it doesn't work. My Defrost also doesn't work. It's been this way for about 6 month's now. How can i fix this problem.

The Simple Solution

Have you Checked the fuse or the wire that feeds the motor. If the fuse is okay then check the voltage coming to the motor. Do this with at least the key on and the blower switch and air conditioing set to whatever mode you noticed it did not work in.

at the connection

Pull the connetor off were it plugs into the motor use a multimeter and see what king of voltage you have at the pins.
The high speed pin should read battery voltage or close to it.
And then as you go down in speeds the resistor will cut the voltage down.
Make sure you know witch one is ground as that will be common to all speeds.
