Smile Explorer Radius Arm Bushing???

Any of you Ford guys know about the radius arm bushings in the front of a 92 exploder 4x4? The book says that you must take out the springs, brakes and all to get the axle far enough forward to replace the bushings. Will the Axel move far enough by just taking the nut off the radius arm? OR, will the bolts that attach the arm to the axel come out without a magic wand (1" impact gun)? Thanks in advance!

you talkin the bushings under your feet in the floor board. The arm from front axle to frame? On a 2 wheel drive a guy told me to cut the bracket off the frame, put in bushings and bolt the housing back to the frame(if you got the tools for that). I did not like that idea, My front bushing was ok, just the outside bushing on the nut side was busted, so I just took off the nut, put the back half of the rubber kit on and put the new nut back on. It tightend up fine and never gave any more problems. Ofcoarse if your inside rubber is busted you will have to remove it. If only the back one is bad just change it.
