1997 Ranger - dome light

I have a 1997 Ranger that the dome light is staying
on. I removed the fuse temporarily but I can't find
the dome light switch. I checked the A & B pillar
of the door opening and also the complete surface
of the door itself. and cannot find it. Any ideas?

the door switch is on the latch assembly inside the door. you might try spraying some WD40 or PBBlaster in the latch then closing and opening the door a few times, may free up the switch. if not, then the door panel must be removed to access the switch.

Not sure where the door switch is, but have you eliminated the obvious? Before the light started burning continuously, assume you are in the cab, it's night, the doors are closed, and you need some interior light. How did you turn on the light? Is there a switch on the light itself, or did you twist the headlight knob, or dial up or down with the instrument lights dimmer?
That's what I would check first.
As to the door switch, you may have to look inside the door panel. It may be a magnet switch , or on one car I had, it was tripped by the door latch mechanism.

Maybe the contact is in the latch.
