Where is the serpentine belt tensioner on 97 Saturn?

I need to change my serpentine belt on a 97 SL2 Saturn. I have read enough to know I need to release the tensioner.

But I cant seem to get an accurrate info on where it is? Do I reach it from up top, or behind the wheel?

Do I need an extra long wrench? Someone at the auto parts store said, alot of times with tensioners, a ratchet withno socket will work , as thetensioner has a 3/8 hole on the center.

Also, I cant find a picture of the tensioner so I dont even know what to look for.

Recently did some work on sister's '94; replaced the belt and tensioner & idler pulleys. Worked through the right front wheel well after jacking up (and safely supporting) and removing the inner fender well liner.

Here's some help:

Don't throw away the old belt even if it is ugly. Throw it in the trunk for insurance.

Save it since it is so important and you never know when you will have a problem and you are in a place (boondocks, small town in the Republic of Wisconsin, etc.) that you cannot get one immediately.

There might not be an AutoZone around.

look on the front of the engine compartment were the hood release is at there should be a diagram that shows you routing and tensioner direction.
