89 camry window

The passenger side window on my 89 4 dr camry died and with cold weather coming and 2 kids I need to fix it. Any ideas what it could be. When I hit the switch I hear nothing

This could be a number of things. From what you describe, the window does not work from either the passenger or driver side switch? If not, you would need to check your solenoid for the window motor which is behind the door panel. If you have a multimeter, check for 12vDC at the connector. If you have voltage to the motor/solenoid, that means your power window motor is dead. You can probably find this part in a salvage yard or at your local auto store. Shouldn't be too expensive.

It ended up even simpler than that. 2 points on the passenger side switch were dirty and I took a nail to them and scraped them clean. Now the window works. So from now on I'll start with the simplest answer and work my way from there.
