1986 Buick Century/radiator Belt

Unhappy 1986 Buick Century/radiator Belt

Any Information On How To Install New Radiater Belt Myself As The Belt Has Been Fixed 2 Times By Auto Service Store But Makes Loud Squeaky Noise Alot For A Couple Of Months And Then Snaps...it Is The Second Belt In ...thank You

You may have a bad pulley. If you have replaced that belt a few times already, sounds like a possible bad pulley. Check for anything that may be rubbing up against the belt, i.e. hoses, wire's. Also, if you have a bad belt tensioner, it may cause the belt to slack a little cause slipping and eventually snapping. It (tensioner) may be to tight cause the noise and snapping.

Second that. I would replace both the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Actually at that age I would replace the tensioner itself AND the pulley. We're both assuming its a serpentine belt. If you do in fact find one or the other pulley bad, I would look for a new mechanic, too.
