shimmy at low speed

I've got a 2000 Hyundai Elantra that just started shimmying at around 25-30 mph. You can feel it in the steering wheel, not the ride. At higher speeds the car seems to run very smoothly. What are some possible causes of low speed shimmy in the steering? Thanks!

Could be a few things.

1. Bad tires and/or tire balance

2. Bad tie rod ends

3. Warped brake rotors

4. CV joints

5. Motor mounts

6. Upper/lower ball joints.
Look for uneven tire wear, if there is, the you have a alignment problem.

I'd say bad tires, try to rotate them front to back and see if it makes any different.

Ditto. Wheel balance would be high on my list, barring a bad tire.
