1988 Jeep Comanche Pick-Up. Cannot direct air to dashboard ducts. Ventilation is now all directed to "defrost" and "floor" ducts. I have checked all vaccuum hoses and found no problems. This is a basic AC/Heat system without automatic climate control.

Any suggestion to troubleshoot system is appreciated.

Check the cable connections both on the lever on the dash and where it ends under the dash at the duct housing.

This will happen when the air mixing valve within the airbox brakes. The air will revert to the default defroster mode. Only way to fix this is to get a new air mixxing valve. It's a pain in he butt to get to sometimes. Also, check your vacuum line goinging in through the firewall to the airbox.
