car tires

I was going to put on winter tires but discovered their different sizes. The car is a 1997 ford taurus 3l. I have a set of 195/65/R15 and 205/60/R15. Can i put those on for a short while and where will i put them? Back or front. What sizes would be compatible if odd sizes are used Also what damage could odd sizes do the front end or steering and cornering.
Thanks in advance
Bill

Look in your owners manual. Use the size tire they recommend. When you start getting a bigger tire, or smaller tire, it may affect your speedometer, etc. If you went from that 195x65x15 tire to the 205x60x15, your speedometer will be off 1.2%. So, if you were going 60, your real speed will be 59.3mph. You probably can mount those up without to many issues.

car tires

Maybe i didn't explain myself clearly enough. Can I put the 205/60/R15 on the back and 195/65/R15 on the front? Or vice versa?
Thanks
Bill

Yes, you should be able too. the 205's are stock tires for your vehicle. Going to a small tire in front won't hurt anything. You will notice a difference in handling most likely. Since it's a small tire, your handling will be reduced slightly.
