2002 Buick Century smells like gas fumes

Last week I noticed a gas fume smell when I turned on the heater.
This morning I started the car and had to get out and I smelled strong gas fumes. The eventually go away though.
What could this be and what should be done?

Recent repair work: timing gasket changed, head gasket changed, new thermostat put in.

Car only has a little over 60,000 miles on it. My extended warranty is nearing an end. HELP!

The smell of gas is a prelude to a fire or explosion. You have an extended warranty, get it to a shop A.S.A.P.. Even if the leak source is not covered by warranty, repairs are far cheaper than a replacement car and / or burns treatment in a hospital.

I concur

Get that car to the shop while still under warranty it is NOT safe to drive that way any fuel leaks are a no go item.
The problem might be anything but I suspect pulling the head off had something to do with it.
Maybe a fuel rail is leaking (just a quess).
