96 Monte Carlo transmission slipping

Transmission started slipping yesterday at stoplight. Sometimes the car just rev's and slowly hooks up, at the next light it's fine. Starting the car in "low" helps off the light and all other shifts feel tight.

Added a bottle of Lucas tranny repair and no help.

Does this car have a Modulator valve? Is the tranny shifts controlled by computer?

Any advice is appreciated!!

Tranny will be controlled by a few things. The TCM (Transmission Control Module), VB (valve body) and vacuum and hydraulic controls. Try doing a transmission flush. You could probably do this yourself if you have some tools and patience. There's to many things that could be wrong and difficult to diagnose in a forum. Try the transmission flush first and see if that improves anything. It may be your torque converter as well.

I would also have it scanned for codes. Tranny codes do not always turn on the CEL, so you might get a clue.
