2002 Chevy Astro Heat Blows Cold
2002 Chevy astro v6 2wheel drive passenger
When I turn the heater dial to hot it still blows cold. There is pleanty of water in the radiator. Vehicle is not over heating. It heats up to the right temp so the thermastate should be working.
Is the switch to allow the hot water into the heater core electric or vacum?
Are there any known problems with this system?
How do you fix it?
Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!

change your thermostat. my dodge had the same problem today and replaced that, and it's good to go now. If that does not work, try a coolant system flush. Maybe there the lines going into the heater core are blocked, if still nothing, I believe there is a heater control valve connected to the heater core hoses in the engine bay.
Your thermostat probably failed in the open position so that is why you do not overheat.
