Cavalier will not start

I have a 2003 cavaleir that won't start. It has been very cold the last couple of nights. This morning it was started and left to warm up. When I went back outside it had gone dead and would not start again. The engine turns over fine but won't start. I got an engine scaner and plugged it in and it gave a code of p0440 EVAP emmission control system malfunction. Can you give me some idea of what I need to do? I've been told everything from fuel pump, cracked vaccum lines, or fuel filter. thanks

EVAP codes are usually the cause of a lose or missing gas cap. I don't see this code preventing you from starting, but it might. Check your gas cap. Have Autozone or a place like that test your battery and alternator.

two evap codes

The scan shows two p0440 evap codes. One would be a missing gas cap. I just learned it has been gone for about two weeks. Any idea how this would effect any other emissions that would prevent it from starting?
