How to read transmission oil dip stick?

I ask experts to settle this matter for me once and for all. Am I supposed to read the highest point of oil wetting or the highest point where oil covers dip stick 100%? Between these two points, oil does not cover the dip stick surface 100%, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

I'd read it where the oil covered on both side of the stick.

you mean fluid right ? hydraulic fluid to be specific ? assuming that it is an auto tranny ( manuals don't have dipsticks that i know of ) it's called tranny fluid not oil.
anyways level of tranny fluid really changes with temp. so make sure you check when hot idling in park, unless specified otherwise that's the standard for checking level, be sure not to overfill.
