oil leak 2000 4-Runner

oil leak 2000 4-Runner

Just had an oil change done on my 2000 4-Runner. Now have a slight oil leak..seems to be coming from oil plug area. Happened the last time I had an oil change as well...Seems to go away after about a month of driving...any thoughts?

One of three items come to mind. 1. failed to replace gasket on drain plug, 2. damaged gasket on drain plug, 3. cross-threaded drain plug. (I assume you have verified that the plug is tightened adequately.) You will have to remove the plug to replace the gasket, and if the plug/oil pan has been damaged by cross threading, they make after-market self sealing replacement plugs.
