i got a 83 suzuki samuri 1000cc motor it has a loud noise coming from the top end. would any body might know what it could be

What type of noise? Hissing, ticking? popping?

If it's like a ticking type noise it's most likely your valves.

2000 Ram Van 2500 starting problems

Started about 3 days ago, I noted that starting was take long to kick in and a bit slower in the cranking, then I was cleaning the Van and when I was going leave did not start, just got a couple of very slow cranks and then just clicks, I got a jump and the engine was cranking real good but would not start, wait for my mechanic to come and all of a sudden it starts and runs fine. It started fine the rest of the day the next morning it does not start totally dead, jump started and it run great but would not stay run at idle only when I give it the gas, a few hours later my mechanic came, we jump start and it run good even at idle, we also found that a wire was not connected and was for the throttle control senor reconnected it and runs fine I drove it for about 1 ½ hours to charge battery and no charge battery dead and now again it won’t stay run unless I keep giving the gas. Been having problems starting lately - slow to crank. One day it didn't crank at all - no sound, nothing. Jumped the battery, exact same thing, nothing. Went to Pep Boys to buy a starter and installed it, a bit of a pain but got it installed. It started right up. Drove the car for about 1/2 an hour to do some errands - turn the car off and re-started a few times and it was fine - then I stopped at a traffic light and the car stalled as I was approaching the stop light. And it has not started since. It's different from the first time - when it made no noise at all - this time it makes a whirring noise as if the starter is turning, the engine does not turn over at all just this whirring noise from the starter. Tried jumping the battery, exact same noise. Now I am stumped. Isn't the starter's only function is to "start" the car? Once the car is running the starter serves no function, or am I wrong? Since this time it stalled while the car is still moving, it can't be the starter? Or am i wrong?Read More
