Unhappy 2001 Toyota Tacoma 02 sensor

I have a 2001 tacoma. (V6 3.4L 4Dr PreRunner 100K miles) There is only one catalytic converter, so i think it is NOT a California - emission. I am in Texas. Had to get the thing inspected, and failed on emissions. (Also had the check engine light on) Put the OBDII analyzer on and found the error code 1135.

After reading in your forums, i agree it's the front sensor that needs replacement. My question is - Do I need a A/F sensor or an O2 sensor?
I have found both parts online for my truck, but not sure which one is the correct item.

With my luck, it's probably the A/F sensor - obviously because it's more expensive - rather than the O2? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A/F sensor is the one before that cat, and the O2 sensor is after the cat.

It does sound like the A/F. Toyota's of this year range or notorious for having these A/F sensors go out.

P1135 Trouble Area:
Open or short in A/F sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)
 A/F sensor (bank 1, sensor 1) heater

Should be- Bank 1 is the bank closest to the firewall . Bank 1 denotes the bank with cylinder #1 in it. Sensor 1 is the first sensor in front of the CAT
