96 Olds Acheiva power steering fliud leak
I have a leak in my power steering fliud and I don't have the money to take it to a repair shop but I desperately need to have a working car as I drive my mother to her doctors appointments and there is no public transportation here. There aren't many places that have mailboxes at people's home either so I even have to drive to pick up my mail.
A diagram of the power steering system would be helpful so that I can figure out the location of the leak and if it is omething I can repair myself.

power steering
you do not need a specific diagram of power steering system , just find the leak while running engine have somebody turn steering wheel left to right, be careful use parking brake, look for leak in or around pump and hoses, if you don't even know what is what under the hood, this job is not for you, take it to a shop instead, it'll save you time and money.
sorry to hear about you tight situation. hope things get better.

Have to agree with lou. Here is some info, but it's very unlikely you will find a leak that is easily repaired.

Chances are it is going to be either the reservoir o-ring or the shaft, both of which are fairly involved. Only hope would be that it is a hose, which is a possibility and would be fairly easily replaced (some cars easier than others).
