'99 Accord front end squeaks... shocks?

My '99 Accord passenger front end squeaks when driving slowly and passing over small bumps and such. It seems to be just the one side. Is this the shocks? Do they need to be replaced or just oiled or what? The car has almost 120,000 miles on it and we've owned it since it had about 50,000 miles on it and we've never replaced the shocks. If they do need to be replaced, how urgent is it? Does it need to be done soon or else? Is it hard to do yourself? Thanks!

120K on the original struts is a lot. They go bad slowly, so you don't notice subtle differences in handling. Not sure if the struts are the squeaky problem, but they likely need replacing. As to the squeak, can you recreate it by bouncing up/down on the front end?? If yes, a second pairs of ears is useful to get to the squeaky point. There are a lot of body and suspension parts that can rub and squeak.
