Smile 1996 toyota corola

Hello y'all! I am new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem that i am having with my car. Sometimes when I am driving and try to turn my wheel to the right, the wheel locks up on me and I am unable to turn. If anyone has any suggestions other than not driving the car anymore "lol" it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

DO NOT DRIVE IT LIKE THIS!!!! My cousin has metal plates in her face because this happened on the interstate years ago.

Try replacing the ignition switch/lock cylinder

I had a similar problem with my wifes Cavalier...turns out the steering gear was bad (was allowing pump pressure on both sides of the gear at the same time).
