Thumbs down 2005 Toyota Tacoma/TRD

Whlie changing the oil, I was looking for the Atuomatic Trans, dip stick...
It is not there. So how do you add fluid !? Drop the Pan ? I wasn't to impressed with this discover, .... I undertand that since 05 auto maker half limited some of the maintance that you could do on early makes?

Your truck has a sealed system, no dipstick.

The transmission is sealed, but you do fill it like a manual...........almost.........
the repair manual goes into greater detail, but, it is not as simple as filling a manual transmission. first you fill it to the fill it till it comes out an overflow, then with some of the computer test leads jumpered, you crank the truck up, run through the gears, and fill again...............since the newer transmissions do not use engine vacum to shift, i guess once it is filled at the factory, if it is not leaking, the level will always be the same
