96` mercury mistique-V6 2.5 trouble code P1351
I did a tune-up on this car, after I connected the battery and took it for a test drive I noticed the check engine light came on. I scanned the computer and it registered code P1351. I read the code book but i`m still not sure what might couse this. Any input is appreciated.Thank you.

Do you own an auto shop book like a Haynes manual that would list all the codes. My Haynes manual lists scores and scores of codes for my 91 Dodge Spirit. The codes are listed in the Emissions section of the book.
Did your check engine light come on BEFORE you did a tune-up/disconnected the battery cable? Maybe by disconnecting the battery cable you cleared the computer and maybe it takes a bit for it to reset. (Just a guess.)

Sounds like a bad set of plug wires or ignition.
This is a code related to "Ignition Coil Control Circuit High Voltage". It may be related to your problem. Could be a wiring problem, short, ignition switch trouble or PCM related.
Replace plug wires.

IDM circuit malfunction
P1351 is a Ignition Diagnostic Monitor input circuit malfunction code. this is a circuit between the ignition module and PCM that tells the PCM when the coils are firing. probable cause is the ignition module, wiring or PCM. I don't have any more detailed test info here, hopefully this will at least give you a starting point.
