Does the vehicle attempt to move at all in 1st?

The solenoid is going to be mounted on the side or top of the tranny.

Is it an electric shifter????...........The solenoids will be in the valve body.. the connectors will be side or top.........I'd almost want to be lookin for a fuse.......like the unit isn't getting power to run the solenoids and is in default (we used to have that problem with Jeep when they first came out with the Aisan/Warner 4 spd).........If not that you're gonna be lookin inside the case

Might want to check for charging system to make sure you're getting proper power out of the alternator. Low voltage will affect tranny operation also.
