Window shield protection
I suspect I will need a new windshield in the morning [a piece of ice hit it when it was warm, and I heard that sharp crack that I know means it will break when the temperature drops to the single digits tonight].
I drive into the sun a lot, and get blinded by the light caught in all those little scratches and dings. Is there anything one can do to a new windshield to minimize them?

Yes, don't drive behind dumptrucks. There is nothing else to avoid getting nicks, cracks. Just do not ever add hot water to a ice on a window. It will crack.

Buy new wiper blades on your way to the windshield shop, they will usually install them for you. Keep the windshield clean, and don't use the wipers to clean them. Wipers are made to wipe away water, not water + dirt.
