Hello all, and thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.
I have a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L V6 with automatic transmission, and recently my car refuses to shift into overdrive. Every other gear works perfectly and the car shifts cleanly at different speed levels, except when third would usually shift into OD it seems to hesitate a little and then does not shift.
I have maintained this car since I purchased it with only 11k miles on it, and had the transmission fluid changed at 65k and 100k miles. Both times I used the transfusion method at Jiffy Lube to have the fluid drained by a machine, and have never dropped the pan or changed the filter.
My check engine light is not on, but I wonder if it could still be a shift solenoid or other electrical failure. I am going to have it looked at by a Chevy dealer to see if they can diagnose the problem, but have been quoted at a price of 450 to replace a shift soleniod, and 2400 for a new tranny.
Either way, any expertise or past experience would be extrememly helpful...
Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it!

Hello and welcome to the Forums!
You problem is not uncommon, so do not feel too bad. These thing can be somewhat difficult to diagnose in your home garage. The problem could be electrical, like a overdrive switch, solenoid or it could be the transmission itself.
If you would like to try to fix this yourself, you can get awesome technical how-to procedures at: alldatadiy.com
It costs $25/per vehicle/per year, but is WELL worth the money.
I would recommend looking into that first to see if you can do this job yourself.
