89 4.3 S10 4x4 Main Bearing change in Truck
Has anyone changed main Bearings in a 89 S10 4x4 Blazer w a 4.3, What I am wondering is... Is it easier to take the front axle and case off to remove the pan or easier to unbolt the motor mounts lift the engine to remove the pan to change the mains?

Can't really tell you from direct experience........BUT ......When I worked for Chevy back in the early 80's and they had a ton of rear main seal problems, the fellow fixin them was pulling the engine.........Now that particular seal needed the crank loose of the engine.......Not really sure if the pan would come out with the engine 3/4 the way in......
