oil change for 1999 econoline van
my ? is how many quarts does it take when you change the oil, the dip stick handle broke off so i dont know if i push it to far down or not far enough when i stick it in, so i thought if i knew how many quarts it holds when i do a oil change i can then judge the dip stick.

what size engine ?
see what size engine you have and look it up on google or owner's manual
my duramax 6.6L Diesel takes 10 quarts, wife suburban's 6.0 L takes around 6.5 so every engine is different, don't go by the " 5 quarts" rule.
