Talking 1998 Ford Contour Oil Pan removal

Hello everyone,
I would like to see if anyone can tell me how to remove the oil pan and replace the oil pan gasket on a 1998 Ford Contour V6 2.5L 24V......I would like to do it myself, but I am not sure how.....

It's pretty easy IF there are no crossmembers in your way.

OUCH! This looks like it's actually more involved. Here's the directions.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the water pump pulley shield.

Install engine support device to the engine lifting eyes and support the engine.

Raise and safely support the vehicle.

Remove the exhaust crossover and the exhaust retaining bracket located on the right side of the oil pan.

Remove the exhaust heat shield retaining nuts and the exhaust heat shields from the left side of the oil pan.

Unhappy Tour.

You need to lift the engine about 4-5 inches.
There is no way around it. It's a big job.
You might want to take it into the shop.
