Exclamation 1993 Ford Escort Electrical Issue

car will not start without being hooked upto another battery like it's being jump started, and when I push my clutch all the way down to the floor my car starts with out turning the key. (the key is in the on position though) also once the car is running if the clutch is pressed all the way to the floor their is a grinding noise and the car stalls out. and on the dash board the brake and fuel cut out lights always remain lit but there is no other dashboard light (even with the head lights on).
I need to know where to start looking for a faulty wire / short / or ground. any help would be greatly

Well, when you push the clutch all the way down you're disengaging the clutch safety switch. At the point the starter is getting power to engage, but that shouldn't happen unless the key is turned to the start position. I would suspect a faulty ignition switch. Without the jump connection what happens when you mash down on the clutch with the key "on"?
