accelerator sticking

accelerator sticking

I posted this in another forum but thought I might be beter served posting here. have a problem with the accelerator catching on silverado Z78, I took it to the dealer and had carbon cleaned before. I would like to do this myself can any one help?

We are missing some vital info here.

What year? Fuel injected or carb? engine size?

If it's fuel injected, I would look at your throttle cable and your throttle position sensor.

If carb' - same as above plus the carb itself will cause this.

I would lean more towards the sensor, but take a look at the cable. Make sure it is not binding up anywhere.

sticky accelator

I am sorry about leaving out the info. It is a 2000 5.3 throttle body. The catch is when you first begin to accelerate. I think that before the dealer cleaned the throttle body .
