Upgrading Headlights
The headlights on my 2000 Tacoma have never been very bright, and I think they are getting dimmer with age. I want to upgrade to a brighter pair, but I don't want those blue looking ones that blind you when they are coming at you. Anyone have any recommendations for a brighter pair of headlights?

A lot of late model vehicles have plastic headlight lenses that become very dull with age due to thousands of tiny scratches. If this is part of the problem, you can buy a headlight restoration kit at a local parts store that consists of several different grades of ultrafine wet-sandpaper and / or ultrafine polishing compound. Believe me, if your lenses are scratched and dull this WILL make a difference. As far as upgrading, your Tacoma should use the halogen capsule bulbs that are easy to replace. Several bulb manufacturers offer a brighter bulb. They will say extra vision or something similar on the packaging.

Jut something to be aware of.............If you go to a higher wattage bulb, you'll increase the amp draw in the circuit and MAY cause issues with the wiring/switchs/and plugs on the bulbs

Those "blue" lights people buy are just for looks. They are actually dimmer then OEM. The best bulb to get are the Silvania Silverstars. I have had great success with them.
