99 Expedition,5.4L--Shift soledoid b malfunction

Hi, I have a 1999 Ford Expedition 5.4L 4x4-89k miles, just posted a, P0755 Shift Solenoid B Malfunction, Code

I was told that I have the 4r100 tranny. I was also told, that it is likely a solenoid block that needs replaced.
I would like to replace it myself, for obvious reasons, and while I am down there, replace the filter and gasket as well.

I am just curious if anyone knows, if it's right there when you drop the pan, or do I have to dive deeper into the transmission?

I have pulled and replaced a couple engines in my time, but never anything newer like this, and NEVER messed with a tranny.

Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Rex

Don't know about your Ford tranny, but I had to replace a shift solenoid in my wife's previous Camry and it was right under the filter screen. Couple of bolts and the electrical connector. I would be surprised if it was much harder on yours.
