1995 Mercury Cougar
Need explanation on how to change the key ignition on a 95 cougar xr7. took whole thing apart. took off steering wheel, air bag, etc. got down to cylinder.??????????? couldn't find screw to get it out. back in the day, it was just a screw. help.

Ford/Merc ignitions are held in by a retaining pin. Located on bottom of ignition switch. Can see hole in bottom of cowling. Ignition needs to be turned to on position for pin to recess and then should just pull out.
