ignition trouble
Howdy, new to the forums and I have a question.
I have an 88 Jeep Cherokee and I'm having trouble in the steering colum. The key is hard to turn and it won't start sometimes. It also seems to be affecting the electrical system, the blinkers don't work and the radio cuts off and on. If you bang on the colum they start working again. Sorry I know I'm spelling colum wrong but it's early and I haven't had my coffee yet, lol.
Thanks in advance
David

Basic G.M (any 13 yr old can steal your truck) kinda set-up........The SWITCH is at the BASE of the col. with the hi-beam switch bolted on top .What's inside the column is the key tumbler and assorted B.S to get the rod to throw the switch.........Start by removing the actual switch and see if the action of the key improves or remains the same
