'96 Dakota won't idle

'96 Dakota, 5.2 auto, 4wd, 92k. This just started yesterday...truck runs fine but will stall when idling down. Acts like a sensor is shutting the engine down..runs fine, plenty of power, but when approaching a stop will stall. If I rev the engine while sitting in the driveway, will rev up, run good, and when returning to idle will idle down to around 600....sometimes will stay running other times simply shuts off...starts right back up.

Any ideas what to check first? Thanks!

First I would grab a toothbrush (not your wife's) and carb cleaner and scrub both sides of the throttle plate and the surrounding intake throat. See if that helps.
