1999 ford econline van cruise control

I drive this van for my job truck. and tried to put the cruise control on the other day but nothing. could it be a fuse or something???

Look to see if any fuses are blown. If fuses are OK, look to the brake light switch. Check to see if brake lights work. If brake lights work, check pins 6 and 10 on the cruise module. These are grounds for the cruise. If these are OK, it is either the servo, switch or clockspring that is bad.

2000 Jimmy Rattles when accelerating

Hello everyone. Here's the low-down on my Jimmy... 2000 SLT 4x4 (works normally, I have used a few times) 85,000 miles Haven't had it really long, but am happy with it so far. Bought it from a respectable dealership in the area that claims they check over all their vehicles before selling them. My problem is just like my title says... when I accelerate, I hear a rattle. This rattle seems to be coming from directly in front of me while sitting in the driver's seat. It's kind of hard to hear under the drone of the engine and tires, but definately there. When I let off the gas, the rattle stops. Strange part (at least to me) is that it happens about 80% of the time, with no apparent reason or rhymn to it. I have read about the heatshield coming loose on the cat. con. I checked mine and it seemed tight (not to mention on the other side of the vehicle from where the sound is coming from). When we bought it, my dad helped me check all my fluids, air pressure, etc. Everything except the rear differential (??) because we couldn't get the screw to come out. Unfortunately I don't know enough about cars to offer any more info. If you ask any questions, I will certainly do my best to get the info. Thanks for you help!! Later, NathanRead More

1988 mercury sable rear brake drums

I just replaced the rear brake shoes no my sable along with a set of new drums. I could not turn the rear drums after instalation. I put my old drums back on and took the new drums back to have them machined down a little bit. The parts guy told me the new drums were out of round. After removal of the new drums i did notice that the surface around the bolt holes was not flat anymore. My question is "what caused this?" Could it be the wheel studs are no good? The parts guy gave me a new pair of drums but i need to know what happened before i install the new drums. I tightened them by hand since i dont have a compressor.
