It is likly the pump is frozen and every time you crank it turns on the pump and the pump trys to run. But it is frozen and thus blows the fuese.

Try this. Go to the pump connection and run a wire from the pump to the battery. When you connect it to the battery see if it sparks is the the pump running or is it tryes to melt the wire.
If so the pump is frozen and grounded in the gas tank. It will blow the fuse and melt the wire.'

Not to be argumentive with Goldwing, but I think I would take an opposite approach and DISCONNECT the fuel pump connector, then turn key on. See if the fuse remains intact.

Sounds like you've got a short somewhere in that part of the harness, Astro.

Time to start backtracking wires; will probably not be a lot of fun.

Might yanking the pump relay to see if there's any change.

How are your wire-chasing skills? Think you'll be getting a fair amount of practice.

That would tend to point to the pump, but before disconnecting it didn't help. I'm thinking maybe it's going to be in the wiring near where you were working and moving it around while working on the pump is making it intermittent.
