Break light and the battery light comes on
We have a 89' Toyota Corolla. We were having problems with it starting, checked the battery and alt, neither of them were the problem. Now the Battery and Break light are on and the interior lights are dim (possibly the headlights as well) I was thinking this may be due to a bad connection or a bad wire. What is the best way for me to find the short/connection?...Or is this the problem?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Cassandra

With both those lights on it means the alternator is going south. Simply having Autozone type stores test your alternator does not mean it's good. Check all your battery/starter cables for good connections, but I think it's your alternator.
Toyota is known for ome bad alternators back in the day because they had to use GM type alternators because they had some sort of agreement with them to use the same manufacturer, usually AC Delco.
