Question 1998 Ford Contour SE

Just out of curiosity is it normal for my car to shoot out vapor from the muffler when I am warming it up in them morning. When its just idling there is will shoot out vapor from the tip of the muffler including some drips of water. While idling if I hit the accelerator it shoots out even more. Of course when I drive it it will go away. As soon as I get to work I do not notice no more vapor but if I put my hand in front of the muffler I can feel hot humid air..Is that normal or is there anything wrong with my car??
