95 jimmy frost plug
what is the location of the frost plug on a 95 jimmy? took the truck to a mechanic and he wanted 200.00 to replace. I should be able to do this myslef with a little help

There is more than one frost plug, and they are not really for indicating a frozen block. They were part of the sand casting process for the engine block, but also can serve to indicate a frozen water jacket. They can also simply rust out. Several are located behind the bell housing and are very hard to get at without pulling the engine, not the $200 type. Others require less disassembly, thus less expensive.
