'97 chevy blazer no brake lights or hazards

The brake lights on this 1997 Chevy Blazer stopped working along with the hazard lights. The CENTER BRAKE light works, the turn signals work, parking lights work, tail lights work. However when the hazard switch is on the turn signals do not work. I have checked the fuses and the bulbs and they are all fine.

I would suggest you check again, most likely a bad fuse. As I recall, there is more than one fuse block in those vehicles, one under dash and one under hood, I think???

I do not find a fuse box under the hood. And yes the hazard lights do not work.

Have you checked the flasher? If I remember right there is 1 for signals and another for hazard.

most likely it is your flasher fuse... as for your brakes,

i would check all of the bulbs and lamp holders for corrosion..

if none of the easy fixes work it could be a brake switch(located somewhere around the brake pedal) but i really doubt that, check all your fuses again

Well I have traced the problem to the turn signal switch or the multi-function switch. Does anyone have any expertise with this piece of hardware, and how to remove or repair it?
Thanks

to remove the switch you need to remove the steering wheel, i am not sure if you have an airbag in the blazer or not, but if you do i would recommend taking it in to get it fixed, you could damage the airbag module...get yourself a hanes or chiltons manual and go from there if it doesnt have an airbag... its not really a hard job..couple of hours
