Auto Transmission - Toyota Caldina

Hi Guys

I Just joined the family and already need some help. I have a Toyota Caldina 1992 model E-ST195, Engine 3S-FE, Transmission A540H-09B (Full Time 4WD).

When I put the gear on drive the car does not pick up and it moves slowly(I think the vehicle moves on top gear) And the OD light starts flicking. I have tried changing ETC Control and also changed engine controls, checked solinate, but with no help.

Looking forward to your help.

Regards

Mods: I'm pasting a link to another site that deals with the exact problem this OP is having.

There are some troubleshooting steps in this that you need to do. Take a look.

Note: This linkis for a 4Runner, but it's the same issue.

This may sound like a stupid question, but have you checked the level and condition of the transmission fluid?

No question is stupid. Low tranny fluid would not cause the O/D light to flash, but, he/she should check anyways.

anand,

Also, will the car move at all when you put it in gear. You said when you put it into drive it has this problem, does it do better in any of the low gears or reverse? What do you mean "car does not pick up"?
